Linda Ramsden

A North Shore resident and artist, Linda joined the Welch Street Studios artists’ collective in 2019.  Although she loved her many years working in the field of arts and teaching visual arts, her shift to a full-time artist was the fulfillment of a passion and a commitment to her painting.

“In everyday moments and experiences, the act of painting allows me to capture and transform them into a visual story.  Within each chosen subject is the suggestion of beauty, awe or mystery that drew me in, initially. 

The energy of my brushstrokes and the balance of light and shadow play an important role in creating the moods I look for. My work is expressed in layers of glazes that enhance the shifting quality of light and give the paintings a translucency.  Through this process I can speak to the wonder and joy of what I see.”
